Tackle it Tuesday - The Lazy Bug
Today is Tuesday. The day I generally pick a project to tackle. But I’m not much in a tackling mood. It’s icy and cold here and it has been for several days now. It’s 67 degrees in my house, which is just a few degrees shy of where I’d like it to be. What I’d really like to do is crawl under a blanket in front of the space heater and watch tv all day.
But we all know what happens if you do that while all three kids are home. You might take it easy, but they keep making messes. It’s amazing how much damage three small children can do to one home in one day without intervention. And did I mention this is day FOUR of the icy cold I-don’t-wanna-do-much weather? Right. Being completely lazy isn’t an option. I have to at least do something.
Aside from making a trip to the grocery store (which I absolutely have to do today), I must tackle some housework today. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.
So, therefore, I hereby make my Tackle-It-Tuesday project to 1.) Get up off my rear end Tackle the “Lazy Bug” and 2.)Clean the kitchen from top to bottom and left to right cuz I have to because that will make me feel so much better about my house.
I know it is often custom to take before and after pictures, but I’m afraid I’m gonna have to disappoint. Nobody wants to see before pictures of a pile of dirty dishes. And besides, I’d really be in the doghouse with hubby if I did. You understand.
I know that a large portion of the country is dealing with cold icy weather right now, and that we’re not alone in this. Here’s to tackling the lazy bug within us that seems to come out on days like today!

Getting any little cleaning done helps improve your mood as a mom, so congrats! We’ve had the flu here for the last 5 days and a couple of those days I was down for the count. Just getting the dishes done made me happy. The living room, now that was a whole ‘nother story all by itself

You’re motivating me to stop eating and start cleaning.
We have some of that same weather-icy and snow.

Strange that some of you got really cold weather and the rest of us unusually warm! though I’ll rather be here than in the cold!
I could say that you should get going with the housework to get warm, but I won’t
*giggles*

We finally got snow here today (in the snowbelt in Ohio). I know how the cold can unmotivate you. Good luck with your tackle today

Why do we feel guilty if we relax every now and again? I know I do!
Stay warm….

Hope you get a lot done! I tend to give in to the lazy bug too often, but feel so much better when I get things accomplished.

we’re stuck in the middle of some “to cold to move” weather here to
Hope it worms up soon for both of us. The majoroity of my tackle was computer stuff today - meaning “I can do it sitting on the couch under a blanket” stuff

I need to clean the kitchen too but I’m deliberately ignoring it. I got the carpet done. Thanks for dropping by.

It seems like once I get going on a project, its easier to keep up the momentum. If not, hey everyone needs an off day from time to time. Its chilly in my house tonight too. I need to get into my warm jammies!

Thanks for the encouragement! Well, I went grocery shopping… that counts for something, right? Maybe I can get a few things done after I get the kids in bed.
Hubby doesn’t understand the phrase “it’s too cold to clean.” But it is!

I hope you got a lot accomplished today. I know when winter comes I have to fight really hard to combat the “Lazy Bug”. Then spring comes and I just want to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Can you tell I don’t get a lot of cleaning done in my house?
Hope you took at least a little time to relax today. It would be a great reward for all that tackling you did!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

That ole Lazy Bug can be vicious! I had a severe case a couple weeks ago. You should be proud for even knowing where your kitchen is with all you do: homeschooling, mothering, being a wife, etc. We all have our little moments. Just take a little time to replenish yourself. There’s nothing to give to your family if your cup is empty.
By the way, Proverbs 31 is my VERY favorite passage in the Bible.
