A very busy, crazy, fun-filled weeks draws to a close as the last hours of the day slip away into tomorrow. I’ve been extremely busy this week, mostly preparing for our early Thanksgiving Dinner we had yesterday and for Little Prince’s second birthday party that we had today. Yesterday morning, my house (kids rooms excluded) was nearly spotless. Almost everything was swept, vacuumed, mopped, dusted, shampooed, you name it. With the smell of coffee in the air and potatoes cooking in the crockpot, I was even (incredibly enough!) freshly showered and my kids were dressed with their teeth brushed when family began to arrive at my house. And I wasn’t stressed out either. And y’all, that’s nothing short of a miracle - all of it. God gave me an extra helping yesterday.
After a great time of visiting and eating with family, after spending last night baking and preparing for today’s party, after a very crazy morning, a very exciting party at a local venue, and returning home with Little Prince’s birthday gifts to play with all evening… my house now looks NOTHING like it did yesterday morning. Every single horizontal stacking surface in my kitchen, dining room and living room is completely covered. I think my house is buried under here somewhere.
I completely cleaned up after Thanksgiving lunch yesterday and I’ve even put away a bunch of the party stuff, but you wouldn’t know it by looking around. Oh well, right? But we sure are going to be busy tomorrow!
For now, I’m just going to heave a big sigh and catch my breath and leave it all where it is. It isn’t going anywhere.
