Monday Meanderings & Menu Plan Monday
For a while now, I’ve been observing Monday Meanderings via Boasting In My Weakness… this week I thought I would give it a try and see how I like it. I’m expecting to be able to focus my intentions for the week into one little post, organize it into a plan of attack and then have an untouchable copy for reference that my children can’t color on, tear up or throw away.
My “outline for this week” looks a little something like this:
1.) Bible Study: Morning devotions using THIS site to study my bible chronologically. Also, catching up on the sermon I missed this Sunday via podcast and working on scripture memorization.
2.) “MUST Do” List:
- Stick to my daily schedule (as God allows) for morning devotions, taking care of the home and home-schooling.
- Finish setting up my Etsy store.
- Begin organizing papers & bills, especially taking care of the Action pile.
- Print more worksheets for school.
- Finish catching up on laundry (from when we didn’t have a washing machine) and then rotate out most of the winter clothes and rotate in some of the spring clothes.
- Iron Big Daddy’s clothes for each day, as a labor of love.
3.) Taking Care of My Home:
Daily Chores and then focus on these areas for weekly chores:
- Monday - Kitchen; Wash Lights
- Tuesday - Dining Room; Wash Darks
- Wednesday - Living Room; Wash Towels & Little Prince’s Bedding
- Thursday - Master Bedroom & Bathroom; Wash Lights & Master Bedding
- Friday - Kids’ Rooms; Wash Darks & Girls’ Bedding
- Saturday - Wash Whites; Kids’ Bathroom; Clean Up Yard/Car
4.) Training My Children:
This week we’ll start our 12 days of Easter - which kinda snuck up on me so today I have to really get it together! In addition to doing that each day, we’ll stick to our basics each day and we’ll begin reading together “Life Lessons from the Princess and the Kiss.”
5.) Menu Plan Monday:
- Monday - Yogurt & fruit; Sandwiches & Chips; Jello & Fruit; Beef Quesadillas & Salsa Fresca
- Tuesday - Biscuits & Gravy & Turkey Bacon; Nacho Supremes; Jello & Fruit; Chicken & Rice, Steamed Broccoli, Ranch Beans
- Wednesday - Cereal & Fruit; Sandwiches & Fruit; Veggies & Ranch; Porcuppine Meatballs, Steamed Squash, Peas, Mashed Potatoes, Salad
- Thursday - Oatmeal & Fruit, Tuna Salad & Crackers & Veggies; Fruit & Yogurt; BBQ Chicken, “Fried” Potatoes, Black Eyed Peas, Corn, Salad
- Friday - Cereal & Fruit; Sandwiches & Chips & Fruit; Veggies & Ranch; Family Casserole, Cornbread, Salad
- Saturday - Biscuits & Gravy & Turkey Bacon; Chili Cheese Baked Potatoes; Pork Chops, Green Beans, Sweet Potatoes, Salad
- Sunday - Cereal; Sandwiches and/or leftovers; Homemade Granola Bars & Fruit; Rice, Beans, Cornbread
Monday Meanderings is hosted by Tiany and Menu Plan Monday is hosted by Laura. Thanks ladies!

Sounds like you will have a very busy and productive week!
I never seem to post long threads for Mondays. And I *never* post my menu because I’ve already done it once in my kitchen, so I’m not going to make myself do it twice! LOL!

Yummy! & Busy! 2 words that come to mind when I read your MM. I am sure at the end of the day you will sit back with a smile on your face tired but overjoyed in your heart by what the Lord has allowed you to accomplish! Have a great week!

How funny. I was just coming in to ask the same thing as four little penguins. Ive been looking around for something like the 12 days of Christmas and now here you mention the 12 days of Easter. Put up an entry for us. Inquiring minds want to know how you are doing that!

Here’s my post about 12 Days of Easter from last year:
http://bringinggoodhome.wordpress.com/2007/03/28/12-days-of-easter-our-new-family-tradition/
We’ll basically be doing a reading each night, occasional crafts, some baking, etc. Things to focus our attention on the coming holiday so that when Easter arrives we’ll be in the right mindset to worship and praise God for all He has done through His son.
Also, we won’t be having an egg hunt again,.. not because it’s bad per say, mostly because it’s such a distraction. But we’ll most likely be out of town at my mom’s house so that will help with that.
