Tackles, Tackles, Everywhere

I would like to know what evidence supports the claim: “boys are easier to toilet train than girls.” Really? Where’s the proof, I’d like to know. We are still tackling toilet training. 7 days, 1 lucky coincidence and I-forgot-how-many messes on my floor. Well, to be fair, a couple of them were in the yard.

Seriously.

Toilet tackles aside, I’ve been purging the remaining winter clothing and packing it away. I really liked the idea Laura posted about a purge box. Some of these things need to be passed on; some need to be held for the fall; some need to be taken to the thrift store. Rather than trying to make separate stacks, I’m putting it all in one pile to be gone through and divided at the end of the month. That helps me get on with the rest of the organizing and cleaning at that moment, and prevents me from wasting time by saving the dividing process and trip to thrift store for all on one day. Yee-haw!

There are also a couple of other tackles I’m working on this week, but I’ll take pictures and share those next week.

Tackle It Tuesday hosted by 5 Minutes For Mom.

I’ve always heard it was easier to train girls! I think it always depends on your child’s “comfort” with feeling wet, dirty or stinky.
My husband’s mom says he was almost impossible to fully train (he still did number 2 in his pants for several months after being “trained”.) Well, one day he was told he couldn’t start a new school (play group) until he could go in the potty like the big boys. No more accidents.

LOL! Airing Ryan’s dirty laundry for the whole world to see, eh? ;) Shhh. I won’t tell. :)

I’m sure it varies from child to child. Pretty much everything does. I just know that a lot of people told me the son would be easier. As if! And I was just kind of hoping… Oh well…

I think boys are harder….but then I only have boys. My sister-in-law worked at day care for a long time and did say most of the time boys are older when they potty trained. But kids are different and it may vary from family to family. We are starting to really encourage our youngest to go in the potty to no avail. It doesn’t seem to bother him in the least if he is wet or dirty. Hopefully, this Summer he will be potty trained. We do try to have him wear underwear outside but he has accidents consistently and just can’t seem to control it yet.
